VolunteerLocal Mobile App (Android & iOS)
VolunteerLocal offers a mobile app for volunteers to install on their Android or iOS device. You can share the download links with your volunteers via email, social media, or on your website.
Please note: The Mobile App does not currently support custom fields. Volunteers must complete the Volunteer Application on the web before they can access the Mobile App.
What Volunteers Can Do in the Mobile App
- View available shifts
- Sign up for new shifts
- View current shifts
- Cancel a shift
- Send a message to the designated coordinator/recipient
- Submit Hours for self-reporting jobs
- View Volunteer Hours
- Check-in/out of shifts (requires Hours Tracking — contact us if you're unsure whether this is included in your plan)

Getting started
- Open the app and enter your email address.
- A verification code is sent to that email address.
- Enter the code in the app to access your profile.
Volunteer Dashboard
The Volunteer Dashboard gives volunteers an overview of their activity, including:
- Total volunteer hours (if enabled by the organization)
- Upcoming shifts
- A search tool to find additional shifts
- The option to record hours for self-reporting jobs (if enabled by the organization)
View My Shifts
When View My Shifts is selected, volunteers see a list of their scheduled shifts. Depending on event or program settings, volunteers may be able to:
- Cancel a shift
- Check in or check out
- Send a message to the coordinator
These options are configured within the event or program settings.
Search for More shifts
When Search for More Shifts is selected, volunteers see a list of open, available shifts — similar to the web signup page. Volunteers can:
- Browse available shifts
- Sign up directly from the app
- Search for shifts on specific dates
Add your Logo to the Mobile app (Admins)
Customize the mobile app experience by adding your organization's logo.
- Navigate to Account > Settings
- Expand Volunteer Experience
- Scroll to the Mobile App section
- Upload your logo
