VolunteerLocal offers a mobile app for volunteers to install on their Android or iOS device. You can share the download links with your volunteers via email, social media, or on your website.
What Volunteers Can do in the Mobile App
- View available shifts
- Sign up for new shifts
- View current shifts
- Cancel a shift
- Send a message to the designated coordinator/recipient
- Submit Hours for self-reporting jobs
- View Volunteer Hours
- Check-in/out of shifts*
*Note: Hours tracking features must be part of your plan to use this feature
Please note: The Mobile App does not currently support fields at this time. Volunteers must first complete the Volunteer Application on the web before they can access and use the Mobile App.

Getting started
The app prompts the volunteer to enter their email address.
A verification code is sent to that email address.
The volunteer enters the code in the app to access their profile.
Please note: The volunteer will need to complete the Volunteer Application before signing into the VolunteerLocal Mobile App
Volunteer Dashboard
The Volunteer Dashboard provides volunteers with an overview of their activity, including:
Total volunteer hours (if enabled by the Organization)
Navigate to Upcoming shifts
The ability to search for additional shifts
The option to record hours for self-reporting jobs (if enabled by the Organization)
View My Shifts
When View My Shifts is selected, the volunteer sees a list of their scheduled shifts. Depending on the event or program settings, the volunteer may be able to:
Cancel a shift
Check in or check out
Send a message to the coordinator
These options are configured within the event or program settings.
Search for More shifts
When Search for More Shifts is selected, the volunteer sees a list of open and available shifts (similar to the web signup page). Volunteers can:
Browse available shifts
Sign up directly from the app
Use the search function to find shifts on specific dates
Admins: Add your Logo to the Mobile app
You can customize the mobile app experience by adding your organizationās logo.
Steps:
Navigate to Account > Settings
Expand Volunteer Experience
Scroll to the Mobile App section
