If your Event/Program requires volunteers to complete an Application before selecting shifts, they will first see the Application Gate page. This Gate page prompts volunteers to enter their first name and email address before accessing the Event/Program sign-up page.
You can customize the Gate page with your Event/Program name and Logo smart tags, and additional instructions, which will appear at the top of the sign-in form to guide volunteers through the process.
What is the Application Gate Page?
The gate page will check for two things:
- Has the volunteer completed the Application?
- Does the Volunteer have the aligned Status requirement?
Application Gate Page Settings
Required Fields
For each Event/Program you can decide whether or not the volunteer can pass through the Application Gate page if they have a completed Volunteer Application.
To update this setting:
- Navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
- Scroll to your Event/Program, select Edit Detail
- Scroll to the Volunteer Application Section
- Update the Application Gate page pass-through
If an applicant is missing any required fields on this application, the volunteer:- May not select shifts and is redirected to complete the application (default)
- May progress to select shifts
- Click the Save changes button
Status Requirement
For each Event/Program you can decide whether or not the volunteer can pass through the Application Gate page if they have the aligned Status requirement. To update this setting:
- Scroll to the Volunteer Application Section
- Update the Status requirement to access shifts
- Select one or multiple Statuses
- Click the Save changes button
Update the Application Gate Page Content
You can customize the Gate page with your Event name, logo, smart tags, and additional instructions, which will appear at the top of the sign-in form to guide volunteers through the process.
To update the universal Gate page content:
- Navigate to Events & Programs > Applications
- Scroll to your Application, select Edit Detail
- Scroll to the Application Gate page content, update the content
- Click the Save button
To add additional content for a specific Event/Program:
- From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
- Scroll to your Event/Program, select Edit Detail
- Scroll to the Volunteer Application Section
- Update the Application Gate page content

Display a Preview of Shifts on the Application Gate Page
You can display a preview of shifts on the Application Gate Page. To enable this feature, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
- Scroll to your Event/Program, select Edit Detail
- Scroll down to Shift Visibility section
- Enable the toggle "Display shifts on the Application Gate Page"
Note: This option is available only if the Event or Program is connected to an Application -
Additional visibility settings become available. You may choose to display:
Shifts with passwords
Shift age restrictions

Shifts with qualifications
These settings allow volunteers to preview certain shift requirements before completing the full registration or qualification process.
