Password-protecting a job or shift allows you to hide specific roles from the general public. Volunteers who have been given the password can enter it at the top of the Event/Program sign-up page to reveal and register for those password-protected positions.
Please note: This feature is available on Grow and Enterprise plans, or as an add-on to the Discover plan.

When passwords are enabled on a Job or Shift, the password text field will appear on the Event/Program page for volunteers:

Password Protect a Job
From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
Scroll to your Event/Program, click Jobs
Scroll to the Job you would like to update, click on the name and it will expand to show additional options
Enter a password in the Job password field
Click the Save changes button
You may create multiple passwords, and the same password can be used across multiple jobs.
Password Protect a Shift
From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
Scroll to your Event/Program, click Shifts
Click on the Job on the left to view the associated shifts
Click the shift you want to protect to open the Shift Detail view.
Enter a password in the Shift Password field
Click the Save changes button
You may create multiple passwords, and the same password can be used across multiple shifts.
Copy a URL/Link for a Password-protected Jobs or Shifts
After the password has been saved to either the Job or Shift, you can share a specific URL with your volunteers to that Job or Shift.
From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
Scroll to your Event/Program, click Jobs or Shifts
Find the specific Job or Shift, click to expand
Within the Job or Shift, scroll to the Direct Link Share section

- From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
- Scroll to your Event/Program, click Edit Detail
- Scroll to Button Labels (the bottom of the page)
- Update the instructions to better suit your needs:

Shift Reservations (Group Reservations)
The Group Reservations feature allows you to reserve a portion of a shift for a specific group. Each reservation is protected with a password and a unique registration link, and can be assigned a reservation leader who will receive all relevant information. You can also use email templates to automatically communicate the reservation details, including the password, number of spots, and shift information, directly to the group leader.
This approach ensures your groups have dedicated space while maintaining flexibility for general volunteers. For example, if a shift has 50 spots available, you could reserve 10 for Group A and 10 for Group B, leaving the remaining 30 open for other volunteers.
