A Confirmation Message is the automatic email sent to a volunteer immediately after they complete an Application or register for an Event/Program on the webpage or VolunteerLocal mobile app. You can customize the content of this message to include any relevant details or next steps.
Customize the Confirmation Message Email
To edit or update a Confirmation Message:
- From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs or Applications
- Scroll to an Application or Event/Program

Click Confirmation Message
Customize the Message

Choose who the message will be sent from in the dropdown

Edit the Subject Line

Edit or update the current content in the body and use the toolbar to customize your confirmation message

Use the first box in the toolbar to access the Smart Tag Library, which automatically pulls information from the volunteer’s application to personalize the message (e.g., first name, last name, email, etc.).
Note: The confirmation message on an Event/Program will automatically include a {job info} smart tag (the volunteer's shift information) as well as a button to the Volunteer's Profile at the bottom of the message. No need to include these smart tags.

‼️ Please Note: The Confirmation Message email does not send when you manually assign a volunteer in a Shift (assign, copy, move). You can create an email template similar to the Confirmation Email to use when manually assigning volunteers.
