Notifications allow you to receive email alerts when a volunteer completes certain actions during the signup process.
You can choose any user on your VolunteerLocal account to receive these notifications.
The user to receive the various notifications can be established in the 'Edit Detail' section(s) of your Applications and/or Events.
Application Notifications
You can assign recipients for the following:
Signup
Sent when a new volunteer submits an application.Profile Update
Sent when a volunteer updates their submitted application.Cancellation
Sent when a volunteer cancels or removes their application from your database.
(Note: The ability for volunteers to cancel their application is optional.)Flagged Volunteer
Sent when a volunteer is added to your “flagged volunteer” list.
You can select the user that should receive the applicable notification by clicking the dropdown menu, (available users of your VolunteerLocal account will populate there)
Events/Program Notifications
The notifications available for your event(s) are:
Signup
Sent when a volunteer selects a job/shift for the event.Profile Update
Sent when a volunteer updates their previously submitted application.Overbooked
Sent if a shift becomes overbooked (when overbooking is enabled for the event).Cancellation
Sent when a volunteer cancels themselves from a registered job/shift.
(This option must be enabled for the event.)Flagged Volunteer
Sent when a volunteer on your “flagged volunteer” list signs up for a job/shift.Mobile App Message
Sent when a volunteer submits a message through the mobile app.
📌 Please note: Notifications are limited to one user email within the platform. If multiple users need to receive the notification, we recommend using a shared inbox or setting up a forwarding rule within the user’s email account.
