Group Volunteering allows one individual to sign up additional volunteers, commonly referred to as “+1s” or “Additional Volunteers,” during shift sign-up or on the Volunteer Profile Page.
These groups typically fall into two categories:
Family & Friends
Corporate or Organizational Groups

Ensure you are capturing Additional Volunteer Fields
Each field in the Volunteer Information section includes a toggle. This allows you to decide which fields are shown and required when a group leader (e.g., parent or team lead) registers additional volunteers.
How to edit my Application / Event fields?
💡 Tip: Keep the initial form short and easy for the group leader to complete. To collect full details—such as demographic info or waiver signatures—use the Secondary Message feature. This message is sent directly to each group member and can include a link to complete their individual registration.

✅ Additional Tips for Group Volunteering
-
Use a Job or Shift Password
For corporate or organizational Group Volunteering, the Job/Shift Password feature is a helpful tool. This allows you to reserve specific jobs or shifts exclusively for a group.
By assigning a password to a job or shift, only volunteers who have been given that password can sign up, ensuring those spots are held for your intended group.
-
Exclude Additional Volunteers from Total Shift Capacity
When Group Volunteering is enabled, you'll see the option:
“Don’t count additional volunteers toward the total spots.”This setting is useful in situations where shifts are open to family and friends, but you don’t want their participation to impact the available spot count.
For example, if a shift has 10 open spots and this setting is selected, a group leader signing up with three additional volunteers will only count as one spot filled.
