When creating a new event or program, you have the option to copy information from an existing one. This feature helps save time by reusing settings, jobs, and shifts.
Copy from a Previous Event/Program
From the menu, navigate to Events & Programs > Events & Programs
Click the New Event/Program button in the top-right
-
On the Create a new event or program page, complete the top section, including:
Event Name
-
Timezone
- Scroll down to the Copy Event Options and select the previous event from the dropdown
Toggle on the specific items you'd like to carry over into your new event/program.
Once you select a prior event/program, you’ll see individual copy options:
(a) Copy all event settings
Duplicates all settings configured on the current creation page.(b) Copy registration fields/questions
Copies the volunteer form fields from the Volunteer Information page.(c) Copy user access
Carries over any user permissions from the previous event/program.(d) Copy jobs
Duplicates all jobs and their associated details & settings(e) Copy shifts
Copies all shifts and their details.
Note: The system needs to know the number of days between the old and new event dates to adjust shift timing appropriately. Having trouble? Reach out to support@volunteerlocal.com(f) Copy all volunteers
[‼️ Not common!] Copy over volunteer assignments from the previous event/program into the new one
Need to Start Over?
If something looks off after saving (e.g., shifts are assigned to the wrong dates), you can easily delete the newly created event/program and try again (learn more here).
