Volunteers have access to a personal profile to manage their shifts, record their hours, update their information, and much more. Below is a breakdown of the key actions volunteers can take within their profiles.
1. Add Shifts to Their Calendar
Volunteers can easily add their scheduled shifts to their personal calendars to stay organized and receive reminders. This helps ensure they never miss an opportunity to contribute.
2. Cancel Shifts
If a volunteer is unable to attend a scheduled shift, they have the option to cancel through their profile. This allows coordinators to fill open spots efficiently and maintain accurate scheduling.
3. Check-In for Shifts (Self-check-in & Administratively scanned QR code check-in)
For organizations that track volunteer hours, volunteers can check in for their assigned shifts directly through their profile. This ensures their participation is accurately logged. These features can be turned on in the Edit detail of your event under "Check-in Options".
4. Self-Report Hours (Shiftless Check-In/Self-reporting)
Some organizations allow volunteers to submit their hours worked manually. This feature provides flexibility for those volunteering outside of scheduled shifts.
5. View Map Links
If a location has been added to a job, volunteers can access a map link in their profile to quickly find their assigned venue, ensuring they arrive on time without confusion.
6. Sign Up for Additional Opportunities
Volunteers can easily navigate back to the event landing page from their profile to browse and sign up for more shifts and opportunities.
7. Update Personal Information
Volunteers can update their details in their profile by expanding the Your Profile.
8. View all Volunteer Profile Content that has been added
There are a variety of places to add Volunteer profile content within VolunteerLocal. The Application, Account Settings, and each Event can all be updated to include additional information for the volunteers.
