The mobile app can be used for the following:
- Sign up for a shift(s)
- Check-in/out of a shift
- View Shifts
- Cancel a shift
- Send a message (to the designated admin for that event)
Downloading the app:

Signing into the app:
Enter the email address that was used to sign up with the organization.
An email with a unique code will be emailed to you to input on the next screen.
To sign up for a shift (with application):
- Select "Search for more shifts"
- Locate the shift you want to sign up for and select "Add Shift", then "Add Shift" a second time.
- While searching for open availability, you can use the calendar icon to narrow your search for a specific day
- You should see a pop-up indicating "You have been added to the shift"
*Any event/program not using an application will prompt the volunteer to sign up via browser/webpage. The volunteer will receive the message "This shift can only be added via a browser/webpage."
Checkin/out of a shift
- Locate your shift
- Select the "Check-in" option, you will be asked to "Confirm" your check-in
- You should receive a pop-up banner (at the bottom) indicating you've been checked into your shift
Follow similar steps for the checkout process (Select "Check-Out"> Confirm your check out > Pop up indicating you've been checked out)
To view a shift:
Navigate to your VolunteerLocal app, select "View my shifts" and your available shifts will be listed there.
To cancel a shift:
- Locate the shift you need to cancel
- Select "View Details"
- Click "cancel" (at the bottom of your screen) and confirm your cancelation
To send a message:
- Locate the shift you need to send a message for
- Select "View Details"
- Select "Send Message"
- Craft your message and hit send
The message will be sent to the designated user for this event via email.
